FAQ: How much does a divorce cost?

By Katherine Sierra-Kelly

While the cost of every divorce depends on a lot of factors, things that can increase this cost are multiple motions and hearings, use of experts, and obtaining financial records or values for various items such a real property & vehicles. The more time that is spent in court, more fees and costs are likely incurred. In cases where multiple court hearings are required to determine temporary parenting plans and child support and resolve disputes about use of property or payment of marital debts, the cost of the divorce proceeding will increase. Sometimes this is unavoidable. However, at Gravis Law we will work with you to determine what motions and hearings are absolutely necessary and work towards the most effective resolution on your matter.
