Background

Justine Benson is a 2025 Summer Intern with Gravis Law. Originally from Skagit Valley, Washington, Justine brings a diverse academic background to her legal journey. She holds an Associate’s Degree from Bellevue College and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Washington. She is currently a rising 2L at Seattle University School of Law.

Inspired by her family members who have worked in criminal justice and social work, Justine was drawn to the legal field by a desire to make a positive impact on individuals and communities. She is particularly excited to explore various practice areas during her internship and discover where she can best contribute.

Justine is proud of earning a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in her first year of law school and currently serves as the Community Outreach Director for the Black Law Students Association at Seattle U. She believes the key to success lies in learning how to listen—both to clients and to the people you work with—so that legal strategies are grounded in empathy and mutual understanding.

What Justine enjoys most about the legal industry is the people—colleagues, mentors, and clients alike—who bring dedication and heart to their work. Outside of the office, she enjoys watching documentaries, hiking, playing sports, and spending quality time with her cat, Pickles.
