Child support is the support paid by one parent to another to ensure that kids are provided for after a relationship ends. Child support includes the obvious, like a monthly payment from one parent to another. Child support can also include less obvious things like requiring medical insurance, determining the payment of medical premiums, payment of extracurricular expenses like sports fees, private school tuition, and college costs. The court will set a child support order, and the state will have the power to enforce payment of the order if the obligated parent does not pay or does not pay. These orders can be very complex and can last even beyond a child turning 18. We are here to help you navigate the complexities of child support orders.
