Jonas J. Hemenway

Attorney

Spokane, WA

Background

Raised in Spokane, WA, Jonas J. Hemenway is an attorney with extensive experience in estate planning, including wills, trusts, probate and trust estate administration, tax planning, charitable gifts, veteran’s benefits, Medicaid, and guardianships. Throughout his legal career, Jonas has strived to make the practice of law approachable and understandable to his clients. Jonas prides himself on providing clear and concise guidance to help clients make essential decisions, such as how affairs should be handled in the event of incapacitation.

He got into the legal industry out of a desire to work directly with individuals and families to help them find solutions in the face of challenges. Estate planning affords him the ability to work closely with wonderful people as they sort through some difficult but very important aspects of their lives.

Jonas’s goal is to not only provide the legal tools necessary to help his clients accomplish their goals but also to help them achieve a sense of peace and understanding regarding the work they’ve done together. He is proud of the close relationships he has developed with each of his clients and the value of the service he can provide.

When he’s not at the office, Jonas spends time with his wife and six young children. He also enjoys hiking, camping, hunting, woodworking, and working around the house. As a Spokane native, Jonas has a deep love of the inland Northwest. He dedicates a significant portion of his time volunteering in his community. Jonas serves on the Planned Giving Advisory Committee for the Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners organization (SNAP). He also gives his time to local religious and charitable organizations. He has volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America and the Alzheimer’s Association, and he has provided pro bono legal counsel through various senior and community centers. Jonas believes strongly that the only way to truly understand how to support the people around you is to understand the community in which they live, work, play, and serve.
