Boise, ID: Gravis Law PLLC is pleased to announce Managing Attorney Charles Bauer as their newest Principal, effective April 2020. As a Principal, Charles will continue to further the firm’s mission to provide accessible and world-class legal services.

Charles Bauer, a native of Moscow, Idaho, graduated from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1979, and has received the “AV” rating, issued by the Martingale-Hubbell/LexisNexis Legal Directory, the highest rating an attorney can receive. He is a former chair of the Family Law Section of the Idaho State Bar and was the recipient of the Family Law Section’s statewide “Award of Distinction” in 2018. He’s written and lectured regularly on family law topics and issues for the Idaho State Bar’s Continuing Legal Education programs, and other seminar sponsors, regularly around the state for over 30 years. He has served as an adjunct instructor for the University of Idaho College of Law, teaching Community Property and Family Law classes at their Boise Campus, most recently between 2012-2017. He was a founding partner of the Boise Law Firm Bauer and French (1992-2013) and its successor firm, Bauer Ryan Family Law (2013-2018). He joined Gravis Law PLLC as Managing Attorney of their Boise Office in September 2018.
Chuck has handled family law cases throughout Idaho, including in the Magic Valley, Blaine County, the Treasure Valley, Lewiston, Moscow, and Coeur d’Alene areas. He is a member of the Idaho and Washington Bar Associations (inactive in Washington) and has handled individual cases in Oregon, as well. At last count, he’s argued nearly 20 appeals before the Idaho Supreme Court involving a broad range of family law issues, including child custody and relocation of children, interstate custody, divorce, and community property questions.
Chuck and his wife live in Boise’s East End, where his wife is active in animal rescue causes, as well as neighborhood development. They have six daughters around the country, along with six very active grandchildren. “We are so excited to welcome Chuck as a Principal with Gravis Law.
