James Cederberg

James “Jim” Cederberg is the Chief Financial Officer at Gravis Law, bringing a strong background in corporate finance, investment strategy, and operational leadership to support the firm’s continued growth.

Prior to joining Gravis Law, Jim served as a Partner and Fractional CFO at Finairo, where he advised a wide range of organizations, from family-owned businesses to venture-backed companies. In that role, he worked directly with leadership teams and boards, helping companies build financial infrastructure, scale operations, and navigate complex transactions. His work included advising on over $25 million in venture capital fundraising and supporting the sale of a $30 million family-owned manufacturing business.

Jim’s experience also includes serving as Director of Corporate Development at both Kraemer Mining & Materials and Data Gumbo, where he led investment strategy, fundraising efforts, and financial modeling initiatives. At Kraemer, he managed the full investment lifecycle, including sourcing and executing opportunities, developing financial models, and presenting directly to executive leadership and the board. At Data Gumbo, a venture-backed fintech company, he led capital raises, managed investor relations, and developed company-wide financial models and performance metrics to guide strategic growth.

Earlier in his career, Jim founded and served as CEO of Shalebox, an energy valuation software company. He successfully raised seed funding, led board operations, and drove product development and commercial growth before exiting the company through a licensing deal with a private equity firm.

At Gravis Law, Jim leverages this depth of experience to align financial strategy with the firm’s expansion goals. He works closely with leadership to build scalable systems, develop performance metrics, and provide clear financial insights that support decision-making across offices and practice areas.

His approach is rooted in creating practical, data-driven solutions that enable sustainable growth and operational clarity across the organization.
