Paul Willett has practiced in the estate planning and probate areas for more than thirty years.  He has been an AV (preeminent) rated attorney for more than twenty years, and has many times been designated as a Washington “Super Lawyer,” an honor accorded to less than 5% of members of the State’s Bar Association.  Paul’s experience includes serving as Chair of the Estate Planning Section of a major Seattle law firm.  Paul has also been employed as the Manager of the Probate Section and the Tax Section of the Trust Group of a major regional bank.  Paul was a member of the faculty of Golden Gate University’s Graduate Taxation Program in Seattle, and has served as an adjunct professor in Gonzaga University’s Business School.  He has been a lecturer at various continuing legal education programs sponsored by the Washington Bar Association.

Paul served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Washington Bar Association’s Deskbook on Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts, and co-authored the “Gifting” chapter of the Washington State Bar Association’s Deskbook on Estate Planning.  Paul also served on the steering committee for the Washington Bar Association’s project to create Deskbooks on Estate Planning and on Probate.  He is a past President of the Tacoma Pierce County Estate Planning Council.  He is a member of the Washington, Idaho and Florida State Bar Associations.

Paul received a JD and an LLM in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was President of the Student Bar Association.  He is also a graduate of Washington State University, receiving a BA in Finance and an MBA.

Outside of the office, Paul has completed multiple Ironman Triathlons, and spends as much time as possible in the woods on hunting and fishing trips.  He is a hopeless puzzle junkie and is presently building a wooden kayak.
