As COO, Shea oversees and supports Legal Operations, Risk and Compliance, and Human Resources. Shea also maintains a limited practice focused on complex civil litigation and dispute resolution.
Before joining Gravis, Shea practiced with a premier Richland, Washington firm for over sixteen years. As managing principal of that firm, Shea oversaw day-to-day operations, Human Resources, Marketing, and Information Technology. His leadership acumen and focus on establishing a clear mission and vision enabled long-term growth and success.
In addition to Shea’s professional accomplishments, he strives to nurture cultures of leadership and collaboration in his community and with his peers. Currently, Shea serves as a board member of the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Benton and Franklin Counties. Additionally, Shea is a past President of the Benton Franklin Counties Bar Association (2009-2010), and he chaired and co-chaired the BFCBA Federal Civil Practice CLE (2011-2017). He is also a past member of the Washington State Bar Disciplinary Board (2007-2010) and a Lawyer Representative to the 9th Circuit Judicial Conference (2016-2018).
Shea is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. He received his law degree cum laude from the University of Idaho in 2001, where he served as the Executive Editor of the Idaho Law Review. Immediately following graduation, Shea clerked for the Honorable Ronald Wilper (Idaho Fourth District Court, 2001-2002) and the Honorable Wayne L. Kidwell (Idaho Supreme Court, 2002-2003).
When not engaged in practicing law and other professional pursuits, Shea enjoys running, backpacking, skiing, and playing golf badly with his wife, Brenda.
